Our Emotions.

We tend to deal with the physical aspects of keeping ourselves healthy and ignore the emotional dimension – our thoughts and feelings.  The body and mind are not separate, but really one system which carries our emotional memories.  When our emotions are moving, we experience feelings of freedom, hopefulness and joy, because we are in a healthy, "whole" state.

Anger, grief and fear are emotional experiences which are not negative in themselves -- they are vital for our survival.  However, when stress prevents these emotions from flowing freely, the largely autonomic processes that are regulated by these emotions (such as breathing, blood flow, immunity, digestion, and elimination) are upset and the normal healing responses are blocked.

How Do Emotions Affect Physical Health?

Our body is more than the body we see -- it is our subconscious mind.  We store some memory in the brain, but by far, the deeper, older messages are stored in the body and mind on a cellular level and must be accessed through the body (through the energy fields).

When we are under stress, our emotional pathways (our chakras and meridians) become blocked.  As a result, the body becomes out of balance and cannot function properly.  If our emotions are not cleared, this blockage of energy may eventually lead to the development of physical symptoms.

Early impressions and decisions created defense strategies to protect us from being emotionally overwhelmed.  These strategies, perceived at one time to be essential, may be out of date.  By clearing the helplessness around our early experiences (or even current stress) the body can heal itself.

How Does Working With Our Energy Field Help Us Heal?

The body’s energetic communication network consists of the chakras (centers of subtle energy that govern basic physical and metaphysical functions of the body) and meridians (bioenergy pathways).  The chakras and meridians are the energetic system that allows an invisible nutritive bioenergy known as chi (body energy) to flow freely throughout the body.  These energy centers and pathways also carry our emotions and guide the cellular growth of the physical structures of the body.

Clearing unresolved emotions helps the body produce the proper hormones, enzymes, and essential amino acids, and to absorb vitamins and minerals correctly.
